In terms of GGBw’s Australian Financial Services Licence, the company is only authorised to deal with ‘wholesale’ investors. In that the definition of ‘wholesale investors’ differs from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, the criteria applicable in terms of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission regulations expands the definition to include a broader range of investors namely ‘sophisticated’, ‘experienced’ and ‘professional’ investors.
Generally, our clients are easily assessed as being ‘wholesale’ as many are members of well-recognised families and are either to be found on the annual BRW Rich List or are eligible but consciously protect their confidentiality and, where possible, seek a lower profile.
